One of the main attractions at Carolina Harbor will be Black Beard's Revenge. It will be six stories tall and feature a thrilling drop slide. Thanks to some unseasonably warm weather, Carowinds officials said they are working a little bit ahead of schedule.

The only things missing are the sand and the water. When the park is ready, the water will come from the park’s existing 12-inch water main. While there’s a lot of new piping inside the park, no changes were made in its existing water service.

The Carolina Harbor project will double the number of water slides at Carowinds, add another wave pool, and give patrons more dining options.
More than 300 construction workers are on site to turn a muddy pit into the park’s new, bigger wave pool. A nearby six-story tower will house slides called Blackbeard’s Revenge and Seaslide Splashworks will be a new play area for children.
